  • to organise supervised evening therapy groups or contact points throughout each country,
  • to arrange the exchange of experiences among the patients,
  • to oppose the social isolation of the patients,
  • to advise patients in social and medical problems associated with the condition,
  • to cooperate with physicians and therapists,
  • to represent the interests of the patients in society, the law, and the health service,
  • to promote and encourage scientific research of the diseases,
  • to disseminate knowledge of the diseases in their country,
  • to increase public awareness of ankylosing spondylitis and related diseases
